New Image, New Menu

August sees the launch of our Food Direct brand which is the new name for our Hospitality delivery service. The launch is in conjunction with the introduction of a new internal trade food menu. Food Direct is under our new Hospitality at Bath brand. Further information and our new menu are available from www.HAatbath.co.uk/fooddirect.

We realise that trends have changed and our customers want healthier food options. Our chefs have developed the new menu around ‘Food for the Brain’ guidelines. Food for the Brain is a non-profit educational charity that was created by a group of nutritionists, doctors, teachers, psychiatrists and scientists to promote the link between nutrition and good mental health.

Food for the Brain has enabled our chefs to improve the nutritional quality of our food, our menu planning, preparation methods and even how we source our foods. We are working towards gaining Food for the Brian accreditation which will see us changing many menus within our outlets.

More information on Food for the Brain is available from www.foodforthebrain.org  Food for the Brain and feedback from our customers has enabled us to make some positive changes to our new Food Direct menu.  A few examples are:

Bake instead of fry – wherever possible we now bake food items rather then fry. Where this is not possible we use rapeseed oil.
Healthier mayonnaise – We now use a mix of yoghurt and mayonnaise instead of regular mayonnaise.
Healthy options – We have introduced a new healthy option section to our menu with new and exciting dishes.

The new menu comes into effect on 1st August 2008. As we are trying to reduce wastage wherever possible the new menu will only be available online; www.HAatbath.co.uk/fooddirect.  We will be holding a free tasting session in September to give everyone the chance to view and try the new menu. Please check our website nearer the time to find out the exact date and location.

In considering the environment we would like to encourage everyone to place orders through Agresso instead of using ‘Blue forms’. We have put together an online manual that shows, step by step, how to order Food Direct items through Agresso. The new menu has the Agresso order codes next to each item for ease of ordering.

Unfortunately due to increases in food costs we have had to raise some of the prices in the new menu. We will of course honour orders from the old menu booked before 1st August at the original prices. As always we encourage feedback on all of the services we offer. Please visit www.HAatbath.co.uk
