Welcome to the March edition of Hospitality On Campus, the newsletter that keeps you up to date

Accommodation and Hospitality Services has recently gained a gold award in the Green
Tourism Business Scheme. The University has also beeen awarded Fairtrade status in partnership with
the Students’ Union. We are extremely proud of these awards as it is a reward for a lot of
hard work from all involved.
Over the next year we have a lot more to come. We are working towards the following standards:
Hospitality Assured
The Hospitality Assured standard is for service and business excellence. It is a service
sector specification that provides an effective framework that can be used by all sorts of
businesses to create a service culture that delights customers and supports business
sustainability. We have been working towards this award over the past year and hope to be
successful in gaining it within the next few months.
Food for the Brain
This award is given to organisations that educate and promote awareness about mental health
through optimum nutrition. We aim over the next few months to improve nutritional information on
our products and to create awareness of the benefits of healthy eating.
Investors In People
Investors In People is a voluntary assessment scheme which was developed through a
partnership of businesses and national organisations. The scheme aims to improve
organisational performance through better planning, implementation and evaluation of learning and
development programmes. Accommodation Services has already gained the award and we hope to follow
suit later this year.
Hospitality at Bath are continually trying to improve the service that we provide. We believe by achieving the above standards it will help us improve the service our customers receive.
Mystery Customer Results
Every month our outlets are visited by a mystery customer to ensure they offer a high
standard of service. We have set ourselves a minimum target of meeting 70% of the criteria. Each
month in this newsletter you will be able to track our outlets performance.
Blues Cafe: 94%
Claverton Rooms: 95%
DolcHe Vita: 90%
Level 1 Cafe: 88%
Parade Bar: 95%
Wessex Restaurant: 100%
